Sodena becomes a member of the Global Compact and a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment

With both commitments, it reinforces the incorporation of ESG criteria, not only in its daily operations, but also in the processes and management of the financial support it provides, being fully aligned with best financial practices and the SDGs.

Sodena, a public company owned by the Government of Navarra, has recently been admitted as a member of the United Nations Global Compact and has also become a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). Both commitments endorse Sodena’s Responsible Investment Policy and its sustainability actions, which involve the explicit integration of ESG factors into its daily operations and all the investment processes carried out by the public company. The aim is to ensure that these projects are fully aligned with best financial practices and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The United Nations Global Compact, launched in 2000, is the UN initiative that leads corporate sustainability worldwide. It is currently the most important network globally, with 22,356 member entities in more than 162 countries and 72 local networks. In Spain, there are more than 1,500 participating organizations.

Adherence to Sodena’s Global Compact means that the public company of the Government of Navarra is committed to aligning its operations with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment, and the fight against corruption. It also involves taking concrete actions in support of the United Nations’ goals as set out in its SDGs.

In this regard, Sodena defined six Sustainable Development Goals as “priorities” with which it seeks to have a positive impact on the business fabric and society of Navarre. It drew up a three-year action plan, which is already underway and includes a Manual of Good Sustainable Practices in the Office.

Furthermore, Sodena is a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) with the aim of complying with best practices in responsible investment, so that the public company’s financial flows are sustainable in all its financial support processes.
