- The public company, which is part of the Government of Navarra, is making progress in environmental integration by providing training for its staff to strengthen its internal capabilities
Sodena, Sociedad de Desarrollo de Navarra, S.L., a public company dependent on the Government of Navarra, is the first regional development entity to participate in the strategic advisory process within the framework of the European Green Assist program, promoted by the European Commission through the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).
This technical support, which began six months ago and is provided by the international consulting firm Ricardo Consulting and Competitiveness, aims to strengthen the integration of environmental criteria in all of Sodena’s lines of action: financial support for companies (already initiated in 2022 and formalized through the responsible investment policy), attracting investment, and coordinating regional strategy through the development of an Environmental Strategy, currently in preparation.
In this context, Sodena held its first internal training session for its staff in January, a key milestone in the project to strengthen internal capacities. This training session provided an opportunity to share the progress made to date, explore the main European environmental policies in greater depth, and validate, in a participatory manner, the preliminary recommendations that will be incorporated into the final Environmental Strategy.
With this initiative, Sodena, a member of UNPRI since 2022 and a signatory to the Global Compact, reinforces its role as a pioneer in the field of environmental consulting applied to economic and business development, as it is the first entity of its kind in Europe to benefit from this type of specialized support under the Green Assist program. The approach adopted combines technical analysis, alignment with European strategies, and collaborative work between teams, with the aim of ensuring practical and effective implementation.
The training has also been designed as a space for internal dialogue to promote greater coordination and collaboration between the different areas of the organization, identify common priorities, and gather direct input from the Sodena team, which will be used to refine both strategic recommendations and future monitoring indicators.
The Green Assist project will continue to be developed throughout 2026, with new training sessions and the completion of the Environmental Strategy, which will provide Sodena with a solid operational framework to strengthen its contribution to the green transition and sustainable competitiveness in Navarra.
