Its takes advantage of surplus hot water and the heat generated by the purine-based cogeneration plant in Artajona that belongs to Ecoenergía Navarra, S.L., achieving an environmentally sustainable unit that provides a solution to the treatment of purines for pig farms.
It was the first R&D+i project of its type thanks to its innovative nature, producing dry fertiliser, energy and clean distilled water. The surplus heat from the cogeneration process is used to grow tomatoes hydroponically (i.e. without soil) in greenhouses.
