What meant this operation for Sodena
Gas Navarra, 25 years distributing natural gas
The company Gas Navarra was set up on September 2nd 1976 by the Diputación Foral (Territorial Administration) of Navarre, Caja de Ahorros de Navarra, Sociedad Anónima Navarra de Desarrollo e Inversiones and Empresa Nacional de Gas (Enagás).
In 1988 the expansion of transport and distribution networks began thanks to milestones such as the construction of the Calahorra-Pamplona gas pipeline. That same year Sodena entered the company, which started operations with the gasification of the region, starting with the city of Pamplona and then the result of the territory.
Gas Navarra is now the distribution company for Gas Natural Fenosa in the region, employing 60 people.
Gas Navarra currently has a distribution network of over 2,000 kilometres, transporting gas to more than 135,000 supply points of the domestic, industry and service sectors in 131 localities.
Gas Natural Fenosa also carries out other energy-based activities in our territory.
It has over 114,000 customers in the natural gas and electricity retail market, with sales of around 1,800 GWh in 2012. In the wholesale market, it has a portfolio of around 420 customers, with sales of 4,000 GWh per annum of both types of energy. It also owns and operates four wind farms.

A safe, reliable and sustainable energy source.
Sodena’s participation in Gas Navarra from 1988 to 2008 contributed to the development and consolidation of natural gas supplies in the region of Navarre. Gas Navarra is synonym for safe, reliable and sustainable energy supplies, both from the environmental and the economic points of view.
The availability of gas supplies in most cities, towns and villages in Navarre and the positive response of the population and economic stakeholders has meant that the rate of gasification now enjoyed by the region is one of the highest in Spain and is well above the European average.
